Occasionally, Citation Matching will incorrectly remove the superscript from your would-be superscript numbered citations. This is often caused by corrupt styles in the Word document. To resolve this issue, revert to the version of the document before you ran Citation Matching and after running Convert/Clean Numbered Citation. Then, follow these steps:
- Use Post-Processing Cleanup to 'Remove Unused Word Styles'
- Click Update Document Information to reload the Word templates
- Re-run Citation Matching. The superscript should now be preserved.
